Program Officer

About the role

The Program Officer will support day-to-day coordination of the STRIDES activity in Bangladesh, a USG Global Health Security initiative aimed at strengthening infectious disease detection and response. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role works closely with technical staff, government partners, donors and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate program planning, documentation and stakeholder engagement for STRIDES Bangladesh.
• Facilitate implementation across technical teams, government counterparts at national, divisional, district and sub-district levels.
• Support coordination with donors and technical partners to align activities with project objectives.
• Assist with stakeholder mapping and communication planning across all 64 districts and 8 divisions.
• Maintain liaison with government officials to ensure alignment of laboratory systems strengthening, surveillance, data systems and outbreak preparedness activities.

Required profile

• Strong organizational, communication and relationship-management abilities.
• Proven capacity to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders at multiple administrative levels.
• Ability to operate under the guidance of a Project Manager.
