Road Safety Auditor

About the role

We are seeking a Road Safety Auditor to lead and conduct safety audits across detailed design, pre‑opening, and post‑construction phases. The role ensures that all road safety interventions align with the Safe System Approach, national standards, international best practices, and World Bank requirements, helping to reduce fatal and serious injury risks for all road users in Bangladesh.

Key responsibilities

• Review drawings, layouts, cross‑sections, junction designs, and roadside features.
• Assess road geometry, sight distance, access control, signage, markings, and roadside hazards.
• Apply Safe System and iRAP principles to identify fatal and serious injury risks.
• Recommend cost‑effective, context‑sensitive countermeasures suitable for local conditions.
• Observe real traffic behavior, speeds, pedestrian movements, and conflict points.
• Identify residual and operational safety risks not evident at the design stage.
• Verify implementation of audit recommendations and safety countermeasures.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Transportation Engineering or a related field.
• Approximately 5 years of experience conducting road safety audits and leading multidisciplinary audit teams.
• Strong understanding of the Safe System Approach and road safety assessment tools such as iRAP.
