Manager, Inventory Controller (Quick Commerce)

About the role

foodpanda Bangladesh is looking for a Manager, Inventory Control to own stock integrity across its pandamart dark stores and distribution centre (DC). As the country lead in foodpanda's new regional Inventory Control operating model, you will drive investigations and corrective actions to closure, working with Ops, Commercial, DP and Finance and with the regional Inventory Control team. Every point of shrinkage recovered goes directly to the bottom line.

Key responsibilities

• Own local stock integrity under the regional playbook, with clear RACI ownership and evidence-based, approved stock adjustments
• Review exceptions daily, investigate causes, assign corrective actions and escalate unresolved material losses, including unknown shrink, with security staff where needed
• Check adjustments and write-offs for evidence and correct reason codes and approvals; fix master-data and virtual stock issues (barcodes, UoM, SKU mapping)
• Review sales buffers with Ops, validate returns against supplier terms, clear reserved stock by age and reason, and close overdue transfers
• Spot-check physical expiry dates, strengthen FEFO and near-expiry actions, and reduce expiry write-offs
• Confirm cycle counts, investigate variances, and run wall-to-wall stocktakes with evidence retained for audit
• Publish weekly shrinkage versus target, identify loss drivers and track corrective-action progress
• Identify high-DOH, slow and zero-movers and agree clearance, transfer, return or replenishment actions with DP and Commercial
• Visit stores with a standard checklist, verify stock-handling controls and document gaps
• Reconcile inventory records with Finance monthly (Looker extracts against SAP), explain differences and obtain sign-off
• Report KPIs (inventory accuracy, shrinkage, unknown shrink, InF, expiry write-offs, DOH) and agree corrective actions and owners
• Work with the regional team on common standards, assurance and training of store and DC teams

Required profile

• 6+ years in inventory control, stock auditing or warehouse operations, ideally in grocery, retail, FMCG or e-commerce
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain or a related field preferred
• Proven ability to investigate discrepancies, find root causes and turn findings into process fixes
• Willingness to travel regularly between stores and DCs across Dhaka
• Fluent Bengali and English; ability to work with frontline teams, Finance and regional stakeholders

Required skills

• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Hands-on experience with an inventory management, WMS or ERP system; SAP and Looker experience is an advantage
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting, reconciliations and audit requirements
• Experience with perishables and expiry management is a strong plus; SQL, BI tools or workflow automation is an advantage
