Logistics & Import/Export Manager

About the role

Avery Dennison is hiring a Logistics & Import/Export Manager in Dhaka to manage the end-to-end process of global freight movements. The role ensures that all import and export operations comply with international regulations and that goods are transported efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate domestic and international shipments, including scheduling, documentation and tracking, and oversee air, ocean and surface freight routing for on-time delivery.
• Act as the main point of contact for logistics issues such as delays, damage or customs holds, run contingency plans, lead root-cause investigations and manage freight insurance claims.
• Ensure import/export documentation (commercial invoices, bills of lading, COO) is accurate and compliant, verify HS codes, origin criteria and valuation, and liaise with local customs authorities.
• Maintain complete records of shipping activities and set up digital and physical filing systems so audits and regulatory inspections are ready.
• Build relationships with freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers, negotiate rates, set SLAs and hold quarterly business reviews.
• Analyze transportation costs and routes to consolidate shipments, reduce accessory charges such as demurrage and detention, and apply lean supply chain principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business or a related field, with professional certification such as CGBP or CCS.
• 5-7 years of experience in import/export operations, customs brokerage or a related logistics field.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs laws and Incoterms.
• Familiarity with international freight documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices and packing lists.
