Business Development Manager – Asia

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Asia will report to the Business Development Lead for Multi‑Country Clusters (MCC) and is responsible for securing new funding that aligns with Christian Aid’s strategy and thematic priorities across the Asian region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business development activities across the MCC, expanding the institutional funding portfolio.
• Develop and implement donor engagement strategies, build funding pipelines and identify new partnership opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with the MCC Partnership and Strategy Lead, the Partnership and Impact Funding (PIF) team and programme teams to grow programme portfolios.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with government agencies, multilateral organisations, institutional donors and foundations.
• Meet institutional income targets at the MCC level and contribute to overall divisional funding goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, fundraising or partnership management within the non‑profit or development sector.
• Strong understanding of institutional donor landscapes, including government and multilateral funding mechanisms.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and geographic locations.
