Information Management Officer – Accountability and Impact Team

About the role

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking an Information Management Officer for its Accountability and Impact Team (AIT) in Cox's Bazaar, Bangladesh. The role supports the Humanitarian Financing Unit by establishing and maintaining information management systems that enable effective coordination among humanitarian actors.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an information management network in line with IASC guidance to facilitate data exchange and promote standards.
• Coordinate with first‑responders such as UNDAC and OSOCC to ensure smooth transition of information tools and services.
• Engage with government counterparts to align information activities with national standards and practices.
• Provide training and expertise on information management tools and platforms to OCHA staff and partners.
• Advocate for the use of common data standards, open information exchange, and interoperable platforms.
• Manage content on OCHA web platforms, ensuring quality, currency, and compliance with metadata standards.
• Collaborate with external agencies and clusters to enable cross‑site search and interoperability.
• Design, develop and oversee databases and data‑management processes supporting humanitarian financing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian information management or a related field.
• Ability to coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs, and government bodies.
• Experience in training and capacity‑building for information management tools.
• Familiarity with IASC guidelines and data‑standard frameworks.
• Capability to supervise staff where required.
