Interpreter – Multilingual Support for IOM in Cox’s Bazar

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks qualified interpreters to support its humanitarian operations in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The role involves delivering accurate oral and written translation services for interviews, meetings, reports and knowledge products related to the Rohingya response and broader migration management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide faithful interpretation during interviews, meetings and group discussions.
• Translate reports, communications and knowledge products from English, Bengali and Rohingya into the required language.
• Deliver consecutive interpretation when required.
• Revise translations and interpretations based on feedback from IOM staff.
• Ensure all language outputs meet professional standards of clarity and accuracy.

Required profile

• High school diploma in Social Sciences, Education or a related field with at least two years of relevant experience, or secondary education with five years of experience.
• Minimum two years of practical experience as an interpreter.
• Excellent oral and written command of English, Bengali and Rohingya; additional language is a plus.
