Junior Consultant – Obstetrics and Gynecology

About the role

Save the Children is seeking a Junior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology to support health services in Teknaf, Bangladesh. The role focuses on delivering quality maternal and newborn care in low‑resource settings, including Rohingya refugee camps.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical consultation and direct patient care for obstetric and gynecological cases.
• Support the implementation of evidence‑based protocols for safe delivery and postpartum care.
• Collaborate with local health teams to strengthen service delivery in challenging environments.
• Participate in data collection, reporting, and monitoring of health outcomes.
• Assist in training and mentoring of junior health staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS) with additional qualification such as MCPS, Diploma, FCPS or MS in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Registration with the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC).
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience in obstetrics and gynecology, preferably in low‑resource or humanitarian settings.
• Willingness to work onsite in Teknaf and adapt to field conditions.
