About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join its health team in the Rohingya Refugee Camp and surrounding host communities in Ukhiya, Bangladesh. Working under the supervision of a Medical Doctor, you will help deliver high‑quality emergency and primary health services to vulnerable populations, including child health and sexual and reproductive health care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide basic medical care, triage patients, and refer cases according to Ministry of Health and international guidelines.
- Deliver health promotion, counseling, and education to patients and caregivers.
- Support the implementation of emergency and primary health activities, ensuring compliance with relevant protocols.
- Accurately record patient information and consultations in the appropriate registers.
- Assist with child health, maternal health, and reproductive health services as needed.
Required profile
- Experience or training in primary health care or emergency medical assistance.
- Ability to work in challenging field environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills for patient counseling and health education.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and serving vulnerable populations.
