Senior Manager – Environmental Health

About the role

The Senior Manager – Environmental Health provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for climate‑responsive water, sanitation and health services supporting Rohingya refugees and host communities in Bangladesh. The role focuses on improving health outcomes, building climate resilience, and ensuring equitable, sustainable service delivery in a humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate climate‑responsive WASH and health programs for refugee and host populations.
• Strengthen climate‑resilient water and sanitation systems and ensure quality primary health services.
• Oversee infection prevention and control (IPC), medical waste management, and integrated disease surveillance.
• Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Ensure inclusive, gender‑responsive programming and continuity of essential services during climate shocks.
• Maintain compliance with donor requirements and national standards.
• Report to the Health Program Delivery Coordinator and collaborate with partners and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing WASH and health programs in humanitarian or refugee settings.
• Demonstrated leadership in climate‑resilience initiatives.
• Strong understanding of IPC, medical waste management, and disease surveillance.
• Experience delivering gender‑responsive and inclusive services.
• Excellent coordination, reporting, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
