Technical Specialist – Education in Emergency (EiE)

About the role

The Technical Specialist – Education in Emergency (EiE) plays a vital role in ensuring successful implementation of donor‑funded EiE projects in Cox’s Bazar. The position oversees technical aspects, conducts field visits, provides training, coordinates partners, and supports resource mobilisation while maintaining programme quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager to ensure quality, timely and effective implementation of EiE projects in refugee camps and host communities.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct regular field monitoring and lead training and capacity‑building initiatives for staff and partners.
• Coordinate with Save the Children teams, implementing partners, donors, government authorities and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Contribute to proposal development, resource mobilisation, donor reporting, concept notes and knowledge generation.
• Ensure compliance with education sector guidelines, project budgets and Save the Children quality standards, identifying challenges and supporting corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in development or humanitarian settings, preferably in Education and Education in Emergency programmes.
• Advanced knowledge of pedagogy, material and module development, government pre‑primary curriculum and education policy.
• Clear understanding of the Rohingya response, education in emergencies, technology‑based education and both formal and non‑formal education theories.
• Excellent facilitation, coordination, training and team‑management skills, with strong planning abilities.
• Master’s degree in Education, Social Science, Development Studies or a related field.
