Health Information Systems Officer

About the role

PATH is seeking a Health Information Systems Officer to support the STRIDES project in Bangladesh. The role will lead the integration of human and animal health surveillance data into national digital platforms, ensuring interoperability and real‑time decision support.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate indicator‑based, event‑based and community‑based surveillance, antimicrobial resistance and laboratory data streams into platforms such as DHIS2 and SORMAS.
• Design and implement centralized data pipelines and interactive dashboards for real‑time analysis and reporting.
• Assess existing surveillance architecture, data flows and system interoperability across sectors.
• Develop secure data‑sharing protocols and governance frameworks to enable multisectoral collaboration.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders to align HIS with national priorities and ensure sustainable institutionalization.
• Facilitate data‑sharing forums and technical workshops, and support partner technical staff.
• Contribute to project and donor reporting, publications and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, veterinary medicine, health informatics or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience implementing health information systems and digital surveillance solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in multisectoral surveillance and data governance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DHIS2 and SORMAS platforms.
• Design and deployment of data pipelines and dashboards.
• Knowledge of data interoperability standards and secure data‑sharing protocols.
• Experience assessing surveillance architecture and data flows.
