Hospital Lead

About the role

Save the Children is seeking a Hospital Lead to provide overall leadership, coordination, and oversight of a Maternal & Child Hospital. The role ensures high‑quality, safe, people‑centred care that aligns with national and international standards, humanitarian principles, and the organisation’s Quality Framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the phased establishment and transition of the facility from PHCC to a specialised Maternal and Child Hospital, including CEmONC services.
• Ensure readiness across staffing, infrastructure, supplies, and systems before full‑scale service delivery.
• Embed the Hospital Charter principles—respect, dignity, clear communication, and informed consent—into daily practice.
• Integrate clinical, operational, and support services to deliver effective, equitable, timely, and efficient care.
• Maintain strong governance, accountability, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
• Coordinate with humanitarian and health system stakeholders to ensure service continuity and relevance.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years managing health programmes or projects in development or emergency contexts.
• At least 2 years experience as a hospital lead or in a comparable role.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) issues and national strategies.
• Strong understanding of the Bangladesh health system and humanitarian context.
• Demonstrated leadership and decision‑making ability in complex environments.

Required skills

• MBBS degree (additional MPhil or MBA preferred).
• Strong coordination and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Financial and resource management competence.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
