Medical Doctor – Sexual & Reproductive Health

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Medical Doctor to support Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) projects in Rohingya refugee camps and host communities. The role involves direct clinical service delivery, mentorship of staff, and coordination with protection teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement SRH activities including BEmONC, family planning, STI management, menstrual regulation, post‑abortion care, normal vaginal delivery, and clinical management of sexual assault.
• Provide technical oversight, training and mentorship to doctors and midwives in IRC facilities.
• Ensure accurate SRH data recording, compile reports and meet donor reporting deadlines.
• Conduct field monitoring visits, supervise supply chain management and ensure availability of essential medicines and LARC commodities.
• Collaborate with Women Protection & Empowerment teams and senior managers to increase service uptake and develop community awareness messages.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in SRH at hospital level, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.
• At least 1 year experience supervising health staff and managing facilities.
• MBBS degree with valid BMDC registration; post‑graduation training in gynecology/obstetrics is a plus.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Bangla and Chittagonian preferred.
