Project Controls Lead - Greenfield Container Terminal

About the role

APM Terminals is recruiting a Project Controls Lead for a greenfield container terminal and business in Chattogram, Bangladesh. You will be a key member of the project leadership team, responsible for transparent project reporting, strong governance, informed decision-making and proactive performance management. The role reports directly to the Project Director, with a functional reporting line to the BIM Project Management Office (PMO), and includes leadership responsibility for key project controls resources.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project controls function and ensure consistent application of project execution and control processes across the project lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain and integrate scope, schedules, budgets, risks, KPIs and reporting frameworks as a single source of truth for project performance.
• Implement and administer project control systems, including planning, document management, reporting, change management and governance tools.
• Monitor progress against approved baselines and escalate and report performance issues and risks.
• Facilitate change management, risk management, document control and project reporting across consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Establish and maintain project visual management systems, meeting structures and standards.
• Build relationships with project teams, headquarters functions and external stakeholders to manage dependencies and interfaces.

Required profile

• At least 15 years of overall experience and a minimum of 7 years in project controls.
• Proven accountability for project delivery on large-scale, complex capital infrastructure projects.
• Project management certification such as PMP, PMQ or equivalent is required.
• Fluency in English is required; a bachelor's degree in engineering or project management, familiarity with the FIDIC contract framework, supervisory and matrix organisation experience, and Bengali are advantageous.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with project management systems for document control, contracts, change management, cost control, communications and milestone tracking.
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, OPC, Microsoft Project or equivalent.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to present to senior leadership.
