Regional Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Coordinator

About the role

Plan International, an independent development and humanitarian organisation advancing children's rights and equality for girls, is recruiting a Regional Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Coordinator based in Bangkok, Bangladesh. Reporting to the Regional Head of Humanitarian Preparedness, Response and Resilience, the post holder supports the 15 countries covered by the Asia Pacific region in strengthening disaster preparedness, readiness and response to natural hazards, climate-related hazards, conflict and protracted crises. The role is expected to be part of the Global Roster and deployed to support Country Offices, especially during emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme and data management of humanitarian action across the 15 Country Offices, including quarterly hotspot analysis, managing the humanitarian preparedness database and collecting contributions for the monthly humanitarian round-up.
• Support timely updates of each Country Office's Ready to Respond (R2R) Minimum Preparedness Action (MPA) and its progress.
• Manage the humanitarian dashboard for the Asia Pacific region and coordinate the APAC Children in Crisis Fund (CiCF) with the assigned task team, including drafting reports to donors.
• Deploy in the initial phase of response or during recovery to act as technical advisor or Deputy Emergency Response Manager, and potentially second to Country Offices for technical support and training such as Emergency Response Team (ERT) and CVA training.
• Help roll out the R2R approach to the remaining Country Offices in FY 27/28 with the Regional Head.
• Contribute to regional coordination and networking, including representing Plan International in technical working groups such as the AAP Working Group, CVA Working Group and the Regional Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) network.
