Technical Specialist – Child Protection

About the role

The Technical Specialist – Child Protection provides technical leadership and expertise for case management, assessment, response analysis, design, coordination, implementation and monitoring & evaluation of child protection interventions in the Rohingya response. The role ensures protection and wellbeing of children by strengthening case management systems, referral pathways and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to strengthen case management systems, referral pathways and service delivery.
• Document key activities, lessons learned and good practices, and oversee the Child Protection Information Management System and data flows.
• Supervise project officers to ensure effective operation of child protection facilities and timely response to protection risks.
• Support children associated with armed groups, unaccompanied or separated children, and survivors of violence, abuse and exploitation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in child protection, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in Child Protection Case Management, preferably in humanitarian or emergency contexts.
• Master’s or postgraduate degree in a relevant field, preferably Social Science.
• Knowledge of UNCRC, other human rights instruments and rights‑based programming.
• Ability to analyse human rights and child rights situations at global, national and local levels.
• Proficiency in project cycle management, program planning, budgeting and M&E.
• Strong conflict‑management, problem‑solving and people‑management skills.
• Capacity to provide technical guidance, coaching and quality assurance for case management.
