Associate Director – Tax Services (Direct Tax) – Dhaka

About the role

PWC is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead its Tax Services practice in Dhaka, focusing on Direct and Domestic Tax matters. The role involves advising multinational clients on tax planning, compliance, and structuring to optimise tax efficiency and minimise risk.

Key responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for client management, business development, and proposal delivery.
• Lead advisory and compliance engagements covering tax structuring, ongoing compliance, and litigation support.
• Interpret and apply the Income‑Tax Act, 2023, related ordinances, and international tax treaties, including DTAA provisions.
• Manage Transfer Pricing engagements using the Income‑Tax Act, OECD guidelines, and related regulations.
• Oversee tax, regulatory, and advisory projects for Foreign Institutional Investors and e‑commerce businesses.
• Develop and maintain relationships with senior client executives and C‑suite leaders.
• Provide thought leadership through articles, industry sessions, and internal learning events.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing complex direct tax, international tax, and transfer pricing engagements.
• Strong track record of client development and winning new business.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to stay within budget and timelines.
• Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the Income‑Tax Act, 2023 and related regulations.
• Expertise in Transfer Pricing principles and OECD guidelines.
• Familiarity with Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements and international tax treaties.
