GTS Specialist (IT Support Specialist)

About the role

Avery Dennison is looking for an IT Support Technician (GTS Specialist) in Dhaka. The role is the backbone of the computer-related technology supporting the business and site, with responsibility for endpoint computing and site infrastructure. You act as the on-site 'smart hands' (on-call support) and continuously improve the company's technology and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support endpoint devices (laptops, desktops, mobiles, printers, thin clients) throughout their lifecycle, including provisioning, refresh, asset management and decommissioning.
• Follow IT policies and standards, and provide on-call 'smart-hand' support on a rotating schedule.
• Follow ITIL processes such as change, incident and problem management, and comply with SOX controls.
• Take ownership of reported issues, troubleshoot and resolve them, and give prompt, accurate feedback to customers.
• Act as a technical advisor to management and end users on the right IT equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, software and licenses in the Asset Management tool, and install, upgrade and replace software and hardware to company standards.
• Work with service vendors and other IT teams to ensure continuity of service, and deliver training on software and computer systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus IT courses or certifications.
• Bachelor's degree in a business or technology field preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience, including 3-5 years of routine software installation, updates, troubleshooting and problem resolution on computers, servers, networks and telecom systems.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment highly valued.
• Ability to travel to support other sites, estimated at 20%.

Required skills

• Understanding of information systems environments and computer systems such as Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
• Basic understanding of ICT infrastructure.
• ITIL foundation training is an asset.
• Good verbal, data entry and written skills in the local language and English.
