Referral Assistant

About the role

The Referral Assistant is responsible for coordinating patient referrals from the Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) to appropriate health facilities and accompanying critical patients to secondary care centers or other designated facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Refer patients to different facilities based on clinical need and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain professional communication with health facilities before each referral.
• Accompany critical patients to the referred facility and follow up on their status.
• Coordinate with the outreach team to ensure continuous patient follow‑up.
• Assist the registrar with patient documentation and ensure referral documents are available.
• Participate in awareness‑building activities and maintain regular communication with patients.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in health or related facility work, preferably with an NGO or government body.
• Ability to work in a cross‑cultural, high‑pressure environment and live in challenging camp conditions.
• Team‑oriented with strong interpersonal skills, patience, compassion and diplomacy.

• Electronic device operation (tablet, smartphone).
