Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer supports UNDP Bangladesh in managing security risks across programme delivery, ensuring safe operations in both office and field locations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse security risk assessments for programmes, projects and field operations, recommending mitigation measures.
• Support the integration of security considerations and costs into all stages of programme design, implementation and delivery.
• Develop and maintain country security and contingency plans in line with UN security policies.
• Ensure all UNDP personnel and eligible dependants are captured in the Security Plan maintained by UNDSS.
• Provide inputs for UNDSS country and area‑specific security risk assessments and support business continuity planning.

Required profile

• Experience in security risk management, preferably within UN or international development contexts.
• Ability to analyse security trends and their impact on programme planning and delivery.
• Strong coordination skills with UN security structures and internal UNDP teams.
