Senior Protection Officer – PRoL

About the role

The International Rescue Committee seeks a Senior Protection Officer to lead field‑level protection case management, monitoring and community‑based protection in Bangladesh. The role focuses on supporting Rohingya refugees and host communities, ensuring quality referrals, and coordinating emergency assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor Protection Officers and community volunteers, ensuring high‑quality implementation of protection assessments and referrals.
• Facilitate focus group discussions, key informant interviews and document findings in the IRC system.
• Coordinate with government, UN agencies and NGOs for program approvals, reporting and service referrals.
• Lead awareness campaigns, emergency response activities and protection mainstreaming training.
• Prepare and submit bi‑weekly, monthly and donor reports, ensuring data accuracy and security protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising protection teams in humanitarian settings.
• Strong ability to conduct assessments, focus groups and produce detailed reports.
• Excellent coordination skills with government, donors and partner organizations.
• Capacity to work in emergency contexts such as cyclones or monsoons.
