Supply Planner - Textile Furnishings

About the role

IKEA's Purchasing Development unit buys the materials and production capacity needed to make home furnishing products and food. It is looking for a Supply Planner to work in a small 3-person micro-team in Dhaka, alongside a Business Developer who handles supplier negotiations and a Production Engineer who looks after production processes and quality. The team works on an annual action plan to improve logistics and ethically reduce logistics costs across the IKEA supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Secure operational capacity by keeping supplier capacity data accurate and working proactively with the Need Planner and supplier on exceptions
• Contribute to tactical capacity planning based on supplier performance on agreed capacity
• Maintain correct business set-up information in systems and use reports to spot deviations early
• Improve supplier delivery performance and lead times so that goods are shipped on time and replenishment is optimal
• Help choose the best logistical offer, balancing customer needs and total cost
• Support range change planning at suppliers and develop supplier logistics competence through supplier development projects and training
• Gather, process and visualise data on logistics, engineering and supplier development to support decisions
• Analyse purchasing data across business teams and turn it into actionable insights

Required profile

• Degree with Supply Chain/Logistics certification preferred
• 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience preferred
• Exposure to the textile industry preferred
• Knowledge of supplier capabilities, material, production flow and capacity planning
• Ability to lead suppliers so they deliver goods on time and in full at the lowest landed cost
• Good leadership, communication and teamwork skills, and strong time management between factory floor and office

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and Power BI
• Statistics, analysis methodologies, reporting and data visualisation tools
• Understanding of supply chain logistics and restocking
