Technical Specialist – Child Protection

About the role

Technical Specialist – Child Protection provides technical leadership and expertise in case management, assessment, response analysis, design, coordination, implementation and monitoring of child protection interventions in the Rohingya response.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to strengthen case management systems, referral pathways and service delivery.
• Document key activities, lessons learned and good practices of the Rohingya response program.
• Oversee the Child Protection Information Management System and case management data flows.
• Supervise project officers to ensure effective operation of child protection facilities, quality case management services and timely response to risks.
• Ensure timely response to child protection risks in emergencies, including support for children associated with armed groups, unaccompanied and separated children, and survivors of violence, abuse and exploitation.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a management or supervisory position.
• Demonstrated experience in Child Protection Case Management, preferably in a humanitarian or emergency context.
• Master’s or postgraduate degree in a relevant field, preferably Social Science.
• Knowledge of UNCRC and other human rights instruments and rights‑based child‑rights programming.
• Ability to analyse human rights and child rights situations at global, national and local levels.
• Experience in project cycle management, program planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and oversight of CP case management services.
• Strong conflict management, problem‑solving, people management and supervision skills.
• Ability to provide technical guidance, coaching and quality assurance for child protection case management.
