About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a seasoned humanitarian leader to serve as Country Director for Bangladesh. Reporting to senior IRC leadership, the Director will guide the organization’s multi‑sectoral response for Rohingya refugees, host communities, and climate‑displaced populations across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Represent IRC to government officials, donors, humanitarian agencies, and international policymakers.
- Develop and nurture strategic partnerships and funding opportunities in coordination with IRC teams.
- Provide strategic vision, operational oversight, and financial management for all program areas, including health, education, protection, and economic recovery.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of staff and partners to ensure effective program delivery.
- Advocate for IRC priorities and coordinate communications on relevant humanitarian issues.
Required profile
- Extensive senior‑management experience in humanitarian programming within complex environments.
- Outstanding communication and team‑leadership abilities.
- Proven track record of financial and operational management in large‑scale operations.
- Ability to represent IRC proactively with external stakeholders and funding partners.
