Head of Plant Operations / General Manager (Electro-Mechanical), Paper Mill

About the role

The Head of Plant Operations / General Manager (Electro-Mechanical) will lead the paper mill’s production facilities, ensuring efficient, safe and cost‑effective operations across all electro‑mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day plant operations, production planning and output targets.
• Manage maintenance, repair and optimization of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Develop and control the operational budget, monitor KPIs and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Coordinate with senior management on strategic projects and capital investments.

Required profile

• 15–20 years of progressive experience in plant operations, preferably in the paper or related manufacturing sector.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven track record of managing large‑scale electro‑mechanical facilities.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities.
