Project Coordinator

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and coordination of a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project aimed at building resilience among vulnerable households in host and camp settings. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures that interventions meet donor requirements, organizational standards and community needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day implementation of DRR activities according to the approved work plan and budget.
• Coordinate rapid‑response support (health, education, nutrition) for affected households.
• Conduct emergency needs assessments for children and vulnerable populations in targeted camp locations.
• Oversee upgrades of facilities and learning centres within the project scope.
• Prepare and share Situation Reports (SitReps) and maintain accurate records of household‑level visits, assessments and case information.
• Track project indicators and contribute to monthly/quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain close communication with Site Management, Camp‑in‑Charge and other humanitarian actors.
• Represent the project in sectoral coordination meetings and advocate for vulnerable households.
• Raise awareness on disaster preparedness, especially landslide and flood risks, and support community‑based DRR planning and early‑warning mechanisms.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating humanitarian projects, preferably in DRR, food security or livelihoods.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and liaison abilities with local authorities, camp management and partner organisations.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and ensure security, feasibility and sustainability of interventions.
