Polyester DTY Plant Manager

About the role

A global textile manufacturing group is looking for an experienced Polyester DTY Plant Manager to lead its high-speed Draw Textured Yarn (DTY) facility in Chittagong, Bangladesh. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role covering production, quality, maintenance and team management in a continuous 24/7 environment, requiring deep technical expertise in polyester texturising.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end DTY plant operations, including high-speed texturising lines (e.g. TMT, Barmag)
• Optimise process parameters such as temperature, draw ratio and take-up speed, and improve yield, productivity and waste reduction
• Ensure stable POY-to-DTY conversion and yarn quality suitable for weaving, knitting and downstream processing
• Monitor crimp contraction, tenacity, U% (uniformity) and oil pick-up; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations
• Collaborate with R&D on specialty yarn development, including performance and high-stretch variants
• Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance, energy efficiency and power optimisation in a 24/7 operation
• Plan spare parts, maintenance budgets and downtime reduction strategies
• Lead engineers, supervisors and operators, ensure HSE compliance and adherence to labour and environmental regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
• Extensive experience in polyester filament yarn manufacturing
• Minimum 7+ years in a senior leadership role within a DTY plant
• Strong understanding of POY characteristics and DTY processing behaviour
• Proven ability to manage large teams and continuous 24/7 operations
• Preferred: prior experience in Bangladesh or similar export-oriented textile hubs, familiarity with global quality standards, and working knowledge of Bangla

Required skills
