Program Trainer - Community Training and Capacity Development

About the role

Compassion is seeking a Program Trainer I to support training and capacity development for partner communities across the Barisal region (Barisal, Faridpur, Gopalganj) and surrounding areas. This is a full-time, permanent, field-based role with home-based work on days without community visits, aimed at strengthening community-level program delivery by equipping local staff with the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to support children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging training sessions for community partner staff using participatory and adult learning approaches
• Conduct needs assessments and adapt learning content to local contexts
• Support community partner staff through coaching and on-the-job guidance
• Customize and contextualize training materials to meet community-specific needs
• Travel regularly to partner communities in the assigned region (about 50% field work)
• Collaborate with program teams and stakeholders to improve learning outcomes
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and support continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree a plus
• At least 1-2 years of experience in training, facilitation or capacity development
• Experience in community development, NGO or field-based roles strongly preferred
• Willingness to be based in Barisal, Faridpur or Gopalganj and to travel frequently to rural and remote areas
• Strong communicator and facilitator, adaptable and resourceful, values-driven and a team player

Required skills

• Knowledge of adult learning principles and participatory training methods
• Needs assessment and contextualization of content
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with digital tools
