Production Manager

About the role

Avery Dennison is hiring a Production Manager in Chittagong to direct manufacturing operations and achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost-reduction objectives. The role leads production teams, drives continuous improvement and Lean methodologies, optimizes machine and workforce utilization and ensures strict compliance with quality systems and environmental health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with supervisors, planners, pre-press, supply chain and material planning to manage delivery lead times, prioritize orders and keep production running continuously.
• Drive machine and workforce utilization to increase output, optimize UEE and UPLH, and run Capex planning according to forecasts.
• Ensure adherence to quality systems, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Implement new processes and Lean methods, evaluate site best practices, generate contribution margin and develop SOPs.
• Lead productivity savings and sustainability projects such as material utilization improvement, scrap reduction and engineering solutions.
• Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with the maintenance department to keep machines up to standard.
• Support sample development and lead times with GPD to capture market opportunities.
• Champion departmental EHS standards, safety requirements and housekeeping.
• Drive workforce development through multi-skilling projects and cross-functional involvement.
• Manage cost evaluations in Oracle, oversee departmental discipline and step up to lead operational needs as required.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Industrial and Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Very good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sound understanding of production processes and operational workflows.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and stay target-oriented.
